Have you ever wanted to follow your favourite celebrity
on twitter but once you search for them, numerous accounts just pop out and you
find yourself confused on which one is the legit one and not just a parody
account.
Well I have and I get so frustrated whenever it happens.
But fortunately twitter has come up with this amazing thing called
VERIFICATION. Basically what is means is that Twitter gives verified accounts
to celebrities.
I know you would ask yourself that aren’t all accounts
verified? Well the answer is no. Twitter only hands out verified accounts to
people that they have confirmed to be the real person and not hoax.
These verified accounts make it easier for us the
followers to actually find the people we really want to follow.

Bonang is a well-known brand in the country and thanks to
the power of social media she is now well-known all over the world. It is
amazing how social media can give people such great exposure at a cost of
nothing really but just a good reputation and Bonang is a great example of
that.
She's really making it big hey big ups to her.
ReplyDeleteShe worked hard to be where she is today.
DeleteWell am not surprised hey she is one of the most respected woman in the entertainment business. For her to first South Africa Black female media personality to have her account verified by Twitter is no surprise hey she eats breaths and lives twitter. GO GIRL B!
ReplyDeleteI guess if your passionate about what you do, you will reap such rewards.
DeleteWell it is said that the Bafana-Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Sphiwe Tshabala, has a hoaxed twitter handler. His name and avatar is used by this impersonator, picking up girls and behaving in an unprofessional manner.I think twitter and other social media networks should practise this on every user not just on celebrities, as fraud is a reality that nobody would want to be a victim of...@MokD21
ReplyDeleteThat's true, in that way it will decrease the number of fraudulent accounts that are found all over twitter.
DeleteBonang is a go getter no wonder. she is here to do business I believe other so called celebrities are learning one or two things from her,.
ReplyDeleteShe is a true representative of what a true celebrity is.
DeleteFor an account to be verified a celebrity has to have done a lot of activities which put the needs of the prople before theirs and must show great progress in whatever they do. And that is exactly what Bonang has done over the years, she deserves it as she has worked hard all her life and like you said not everyone can get verified. Big up to Bonang for setting the pace for all female celebrities in S.A
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, so far there isn't anyone in SA that deserves it more than she does.
DeleteYes am glad that twitter has done something with this problem because at some point you even think of stopping to follow celebs because of many accounts. As for Bonang Matheba I still think that as a queen she has to act like one by feeding fans with the right information of why she dropped charges against Euphonik.
ReplyDeleteHer decision to drop the charges against Euphonik was totally up to her and we will never know the reasons why and we should just respect her decision and move on.
DeleteTrevor Noah, Gareth Cliff, Hellen Zille and Msholozi (lol) also have verified twitter accounts, and with the inclusion of Bonang it is great to see that even South African celebrities get verified and not just the international superstars. Twitter also verifies the accounts of large organisations and it's advertising partners. Well done to Bonang
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that we are now finally getting the recognition we deserve as South Africans internationally.
DeleteI really admire her personality and for the fact that she doesn't change after all the challenges she has face. I am following and her tweets are straight forward and really gets to the point. She has positioned herself as brand that never changes...wow
ReplyDeleteShe is one person who is not scared of speaking her mind and that makes her a good brand.
DeleteSocial media has the power to break or build ones image and reputation. Bonang has really worked hard in the entertainment industry and is loved by many people, her twitter stats followers are a proof of that.
ReplyDeleteBonang is one of the few people that are able to use social media to their advantage and this is working for her.
